Do a loony-goony dance ‘Cross the kitchen floor, Put something silly in the world That ain’t been there before. -Shel Silverstein I was looking through one of my reference books for another work I want to do and I came across this 19th century woodcutting of these three boys whistling. I cracked up. So of course, I sketched them out and painted them in full color. I changed them a little here and there but I wanted to keep the simple fun of the original woodcut. I had fun, I laughed, I fiddled around and I hope you can see all that. The shiny spots are wet paint, and reflected light, they are smooth and too much stinking fun. The background is a warmer sandy color than is showing in these pictures. Have a great day and thank you for being here, Heather |
