Here is the quote that inspired the work:

“Just as the wave cannot exist for itself, but is ever a part of the heaving surface of
the ocean, so must I never live my life for itself, but always in the experience which
is going on around me. It is an uncomfortable doctrine which the true ethics
whisper into my ear. You are happy, they say; therefore you are called upon to give
much.” -Albert Schweitzer

I was a child, growing into a young woman on the Gulf of Mexico in southern Florida.
I spent my young adult years on the coast of Oregon, the mighty Pacific was my
friend, teacher, healer and my first taste of real freedom.  I live in Kentucky right
now, and for the first time in my life, I can not go to the edge of the world. It’s so
weird being land locked in this way, and I’ve been dreaming of ocean breezes, clean
water, wind, birds and salt tinged air.  In these pictures the top two ( smaller images,
click to enlarge) are clear and the skin tones are right, the background  is more
right in the bottom picture. ARGH! Taking pictures is not my forte.  I saw this
beautiful picture of a full figure model on the beach in a magazine a long time ago,
she was so achingly beautiful, so I tore the page out of some forgotten magazine
and kept it for years for inspiration. I used that picture as a loose model for this
woman, for this projection of myself walking free, into the salty wind at the edge of
the world. Where is your internal edge of the world?
What do you see when you go there?

Thanks for being here today, I sure appreciate you all.
Pray for peace,
Heather
