| ‘Collaboration #1′ 18″ x 24″ Oils on top of acrylics on gallery wrapped canvas Finished sides, ready to hang needs no frame Hi everyone! Well you know that BAD! Kitty Art Studio just last year took on our first ever resident working artist ( he really likes that title). His name is Max Stone and you can see his very popular works at the web site. Max is a brilliant 11 year old who loves art as much as I do, he also happens to be my youngest son. Max started painting when he was 3 or 4 and never looked back. I’ve never instructed Max, or coached him in his love for art, but we do spend time painting together so he can watch and learn and ask questions about his own work. He is fun to share space with. We have been talking a lot of late about how he has not had the time to paint as much because of school. He is a straight A student and he takes that pretty serious. I was poking fun at him and said that I was going to go into the storage and dig out his almost finished works that I think rock and finish them myself! He laughed and then said that’s a good idea mom! I have a couple that I don’t know what I want to do with, would you like to take a crack at them? Hell yeah I would! So…the adventure begins…Max has given me permission to work on a few of his works, I will hold to the original paintings and only embellish a little bit. He gets to see the works in oils (he’s working up to oils) and learn more about his next medium of choice and we get to have great talks and fun exploring the art together…he’s already got a couple of my almost dones pegged for himself. This summer he wants to spend time working like this together, I start a painting and hand it over to him to finish and vice a versa. It’ll be fun to see what happens. This is our first collaboration we both hope you enjoy. I think it turned out great, Max likes it too. We had fun doing this together, I think we make one heck of a team! Thanks for stopping by today, we sure appreciate you all. Heather and Max |
18″ x 24″ Acrylics on gallery wrapped canvas Don’t you just love the lines and the colors? I mean his work is FUN! I loved it and only wanted to enhance this work not change it. I stayed true to the work and the colors, here’s what it came out looking like —–> |
