| Here's the quote that inspired the work: “Alice Feeds the Birds” 24″ x 30″ Back stapled canvas, finished sides, ready to hang, needs no frame Here is the quote for this work: To a student: Dear Miss - I have read about sixteen pages of your manuscript . . . I suffered exactly the same treatment at the hands of my teachers who disliked me for my independence and passed over me when they wanted assistants. . . . Keep your manuscript for your sons and daughters, in order that they may derive consolation from it and not give a damn for what their teachers tell them or think of them. . . . There is too much education altogether. ~ Albert Einstein *** Here is the really short story of this painting. Make of it what you will. Alice went to feed the birds one day. Same as she had done on a million other days. This day was different though, she could feel it in the breeze. She could see it in the queer orange cast to the sky. As the birds circled in for their food, she noticed that things were starting to disappear things were changing around her, without her consent or control. She looked down and noticed that her hands were now missing, at least most of her hands were missing, what could that mean? She didn't’t feel any pain when they were gone, where her fingers use to wiggle freely at the end of her arm, there was no way to stop them from going, they just left, and she stood wondering…. Is this some strange dream world I am living in? She wondered how she would continue to feed the birds now that she had no hands. Thanks for being here today, Heather |
