Here is the really short story of this painting. Make of it what you will.

Alice went to feed the birds one day.

Same as she had done on a million other days.

This day was different though, she could feel it in the breeze.

She could see it in the queer orange cast to the sky.

As the birds circled in for their food,

she noticed that things were starting to disappear

things were changing around her, without her consent or control.

She looked down and noticed that her hands were now missing,

at least most of her hands were missing, what could that mean?

She didn't’t feel any pain when they were gone, where her fingers use
to

wiggle freely at the end of her arm,

there was no way to stop them from going,

they just left, and she stood wondering….

Is this some strange dream world I am living in?

She wondered how she would continue to feed the birds

now that she had no hands.
