The Fairy World Series
has been a yearlong
exploration of my unique
brand of Woman. Growing
up, I experienced the
extremes of the 1970’s
stereotypical behavior:
both of the genders were
represented clearly to my
little-grrrl self. I learned to
fight, to fear the adults of
the world, and to loath my
biggest birth defect, being
born female.
I wanted to play war, and I
fought regularly, boys
mostly. I hated the color
pink, which was spoon-fed
in every petite little girl bite
I took. In long hair and
dresses, I went about my
life trying to make sense
of what it was to be a girl
in this world. Seeking
balance, seeking my inner
truth, coming to grips with
the body that was at once,
object/commodity,
weapon/tool, and all the
time weak/powerful, and
shameful/virtuous.
Learning how to play the
roles with gusto, I have
traveled 36 years in a body
that has not always felt
like my own; a rental that
is a little short in the legs
and itchy in all the spots
that are just out of reach.
Fairy World allowed me to
marry the warrior, and the
type, or brand, of woman
that I am. I love my grrrl-
ness now, a beautiful,
complex and scary
uniqueness that defies
definitions and allows
ultimate flexibility. The
female form is inherently
preprogrammed into us to
bring forth many emotions
from every human being
on the planet. I am one
such human, and this is
what I see/feel about also
being classified as Female
Human.

My fairies are not average
beauties; they represent
the different aspects of
my new breed of human
being, a complex being
that at this time, resides in
my gray matter, and now
these colorful canvases
too. We are all creator and
destroyer, we all also have
a terminal illness; it’s
called birth. I am proud to
be this complicated being
commonly known as
Woman, privately known
as my tiny, infinite
universe. This life is full of
potential, pain and change.
Choice is like
mathematical equations;
never ending numbers
spiraling into the void, life
is choice; choose wisely
and often. Welcome to my
world.

This is mine. It’s hard earned, and beautiful.
Glory in it, or step into the light, but you
better bring your shades and a lunch,
because...
This is my choice, this is my lifestyle, I am
being true to me now and it feels good.

BAD! Kitty came about as a playful romp
thru the feelings of, “well…I already
screwed it up, so I might as well have fun
now.” All artists have that feeling at one
time or another. I played around with him,
and started giving him attributes and bad
personal habits. Thru it all I discovered my
bad inner kitty. This is my alter kitty ego. He
drinks too much, swears, has B.O.,
sometimes, sings off-key, and smokes
cigars. He never pays his bills, is not
currently in a steady relationship, and is a
real party animal. He is the Life of the party,
and a great roll in the hay. I love this Guy! He
is my most popular image to date as well,
so I guess more people than just me can
relate to the inner BAD! Kitty.
What's your BAD Kitty look like?

The Dream State Series started out of my
need to understand my inner voice. I can
hear it, beating a steady back-beat in my
mind. I can feel it in my feet when I am
dancing, creating, and breathing fire. So,
when I closed my eyes and grabbed a
handful of plaster, this is what happened. I
used found objects, feathers, costume
jewelry, vintage lace, and oils. This painting
just placed in the top five in an International
Mixed Media Event.
Waking the Soul Power is the face that I
have given to my inner voice. I guess my
inner voice is a dark skinned, tribal warrior
woman. That works for me.

I have just had professional, prints made of some of my most popular and award winning artworks.
All of these wonderfully rich prints are on the finest quality paper, and reproduced with archival
quality inks. Prints were created with the photographic help of Absolute Images Photography, and
they are just stunning in the details and vibrancy of color Sydney was able to capture!
Each print is 8X10. Larger sizes available by special order (available within 2-3 business days). They
are UNFRAMED and UNMATTED, leaving the choice for framing and matting to you, and your decor. I
can frame and mat these prints for you for an additional cost, just ask. I can also ship anywhere in
the world, if you would like yours mailed to you, just ask.

Fairy World(rtm) the series will tour different galleries and retail establishments both local, and on
the Oregon coast, a newer gallery in New York called the Blue Willow Gallery and a couple in the
Seattle area. Now that the official release of the series has happened, I can sell the originals, AND
sell the prints, so...that's where you come in!
All prints are $29.99 each (for the 8X10) for a limited time and each is signed, numbered and come
with a COA and short story about the original painting.
